It is with great regret that Pangbourne Junior Sculls has been cancelled due to a severe weather warning for the area on Saturday 14th November Latest weather charts predict average wind speeds of 30mph through most of the day, with gusts of up to 70mph in a headwind direction straight up the racing course. Having consulted with a variety of expert bodies, the decision was taken on the grounds of safety, reflecting the potential hazards in terms of travelling to the event, boating, marshalling and obviously racing. It is hoped that full refunds will be given to all entrants.
Early success for PCBC scullers:
Racing for the first time this season, Charlie Waite-Roberts and Ben Maxwell showed good form winning J17 1x and J14 1x categories at Reading Small Boats Head. Olly Poynton headed up the high finishers too, coming 2nd in J17 1x, with all the other scullers finishing in the top 7 in their events.
